# Quickstart: Codex + MCP

> Connect OpenAI Codex (CLI or desktop) to Unfurl with npx, a custom connector, or an API key.

## Connect

    Start a new Codex session. Ask it to publish HTML to Unfurl. Sign in and click **Allow** on first use.

    Add a remote MCP server with URL `https://mcp.unfurl.pub/mcp` in Codex Desktop (or your Codex MCP config). Save, then complete OAuth: sign in and click **Allow**.

    Create a key at **[Dashboard → API keys](https://unfurl.pub/dashboard/api-keys)**. Use it for the [REST API](/docs/api-reference/rest-api), or attach `Authorization: Bearer oodoc_…` if your Codex MCP config supports headers.

## Publish

Save `share_url` and `document_id` from the tool result.
