Install

npx unfurl-install --client=claude

This adds the MCP server and the Unfurl agent skill.

Restart

Open a new Claude Code session.

Authorize

Ask Claude to publish a test page. Sign in at Unfurl and click Allow.

Add a custom connector

Open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector. Paste https://mcp.unfurl.pub/mcp.Claude Desktop can also use claude_desktop_config.json:

Fully quit and reopen Claude Desktop after saving.

Allow access

When the browser opens, sign in to Unfurl and click Allow. OAuth provisions a managed connector key — you do not paste a dashboard key on that screen.

Verify

Ask: “Publish a one-line HTML test page titled MCP test to Unfurl.” You should get a share_url.

Create a key at Dashboard → API keys and copy the oodoc_… secret immediately.Use it on REST (X-Api-Key or Authorization: Bearer). If your Claude MCP config supports headers:

Troubleshooting

MCP tools do not appear

Confirm the URL is exactly https://mcp.unfurl.pub/mcp. Disconnect and reconnect. Start a new conversation. On Desktop, fully quit the app after editing JSON.

Authorisation errors

Complete the browser OAuth flow and click Allow. Corporate proxies must allow https://mcp.unfurl.pub. If you hit an API key limit, remove an unused key or upgrade.
